Trini Koh – “easy pleasey”

WIYB with Trini Koh, 26

If there’s one word that her friends would use to describe Trini, it would be witty. Always cracking her friends up with her deadpan humour, Trini is the life of a party. She lives for the cool and rainy days which she thinks is perfect for sleeping and enjoys cosying under the bedcovers with a good read.

What’s in Trini’s Bag:

  • Coach wallet

My coach wallet was a Christmas gift from my boyfriend 4 years ago. It’s fat and heavy like a brick. Sadly, not from thick wads of cash but because it holds my discount and credit cards, random namecards and old receipts I haven’t had time to clear. I only “springclean” my wallet when it gets too fat to close.

My friends have, on occasion, commented that I could use it as a weapon to knock someone out.

  • Polka dots umbrella

This cute little umbrella was a gift from one of my friends when she was on honeymoon in Japan.  I carry it with me everywhere I go. In Singapore, you can never trust the weather.  It’s great cos it’s small and light, it barely adds any weight to my bag. But that also means it’s good for sheltering only one. So it you are out with me and it starts pouring, I’m sorry you better have your own umbrella or be prepared to get wet.

  • iPod Touch

I bought this Ipod touch about 2 years ago and I listen to it daily on my long commute to and from work.  It’s a bit wonky now and has died on me twice so far. I expect that I might have to replace it soon.

  • Kate Spade cardholder + Coach skinny

I got my friend to buy these back for me from the US. It’s so much cheaper there! I carry my namecards around with me all the time, while my Coach skinny holds my EZ-Link card – another essential item in my everyday life.

  • Security pass

This is my security pass to access the lift lobby at work. The security gantry is a total pain (literally). When I try to scan my pass to enter, the gantry on occasion gives me a rude static shock. This causes me to let out a minor shriek that is very embarrassing.

  • Hairtie

Don’t be alarmed, this telephone wire look-alike is actually a hairtie. It’s from my cousin-in-law, who bought a ton of these on her trip to China. I have the same hairtie in many colours like blue, black, red and purple to match my outfit for the day. A hairtie is a god-sent in sunny Singapore.

  • Jewelled bag hook

My friend bought this bag holder for me from Bangkok.  (Am I starting to sound like 95% of my belongings are gifts from other people?) It’s a very nifty device that hides a hook to hang your bag. It is tremendously handy when I am dining out and there is no spare chair to put my bag, because I will never ever put any of my bags on the floor!

  • Handphone

I think I may be one of the last few tech-idiots in Singapore who does not use a smartphone. I am totally satisfied with my Nokia E66 that performs basic functions like calling and sms-ing to a T, but I must say I am increasingly tempted by Apple’s iphone. I played Angry Birds on my friend’s iphone once, and it was totally great entertainment!

  • Kiehl’s lip gloss

I have a friend who works as a marketeer for Kiehl’s so we are always getting free samples from her! Hand cream, shampoo, conditioner, cuticle cream, body lotion etc… you name it, we’ve gotten it. We also get to try some new products before they hit the shelves in Singapore. I can’t remember if I bought this lip gloss at a discount or if it was a gift from her, but in any case I love it cos it’s a yummy peach flavour!

Q) What is one thing you can’t leave home without?

My wallet! You cannot do anything without money in Singapore.

Q) Tell us one thing we don’t know about you

I hate eating pork and I will cry if you force it down my throat.

Q) Describe yourself in 1 sentence

I do as I please and I do it with ease.
