WIYB with Belle, 33
A newly wed, Belle enjoys shopping and domestic affairs like cooking – although she confesses to messing up the kitchen now and then! She loves experimenting with different makeup techniques and enjoys picking up new tricks from magazines or youtube. She carries a Alexa-inspired satchel from bagspace.sg in engine red.
Q) Can you tell us more about your bag?
I have been eyeing the Mulberry Alexa for the longest time. When I saw that bagspace.sg stocks a similar style at a fraction of the price, I placed my order immediately! I love my engine red Alexa-inspired satchel because it is roomy enough for all my stuffs. I love the striking color and I can carry it everywhere. As I always change my bags, it would not be practical for me to buy one that costs thousand of dollars, yet I don’t always use it.
What’s in Belle’s Bag:
- Donald Duck makeup pouch
It comes as a free gift from a Japanese magazine. I love how it reminds me of my hubby as he shares the same name as the Disney cartoon character. And I always joke to people that my hubby is a make up artist LOL.
- Essential hair serum
I love how it smooths and protects my hair from air-conditioning and the hot weather as my hair can get super frizzy.
- Hand sanitizer
I absolutely have to carry this around because I once contracted stomach flu due to virus infection, so now I make it a point to clean my hands wherever and whenever I can.
- Comb and mirror
I am a neat freak so these come in handy if I need to check myself and I love its “Anna Sui” feel – very gothic and feminine at the same time.
- Sunglasses
Grabbed this during a sale and it was at 70% off. I love its retro look and it protects my eyes from the glaring sun.
- Stitch’s Paw keychain
This was a gift from hubby and he got it from Hong Kong Disneyland during his company trip. I love it to death! It holds my house keys and also keys to my secret hideout (okay, I’m joking on this one).
- Dragon embroidery pouch
I don’t remember where and when I got this but I use it for my MP3 player because it’s the right size.
- Creative Zen Stone Plus MP3 player
I can’t live without music! This was a birthday gift from my hubby during our courtship days. I love its mini size and its 2GB capacity.
- Nokia E71 handphone
My hubby asked me what I wanted for Christmas last year. I hinted that I wanted a smart phone (read: Blackberry). Apparently, my hint was not clear enough and he got me this Nokia Blackberry-lookalike phone. It’s handy as it has camera function and I can take pictures on the go LOL.
- Wet tissues
This is a must-have in every lady’s bag! Super useful when you need to wipe your hands after eating oily food, & freshen up on a hot day.
- Printed pouch
I got it on sale at a flea market few years ago. I use it sometimes as a wallet.
- Hello Kitty plasters
I bought this from a Japanese bookstore in Bugis because I always suffer from paper cuts and the cute prints help to cheer me up.
- Minnie Mouse pen
This was a gift from an ex-colleague donkey years ago. And amazingly, the pen is still able to write. As if it has never-ending ink, haha.
- Stitch coin purse
I tend to forget to top up my EZlink card sometimes. It stores my coins so I can pay for transport fares by cash if that happens.
- Loop wallet
A free gift from a local fashion magazine. I love its unique design and it is easy to fish it out from my bag. It stores all my cards and dollar notes.
- Multi-function pocket knife
I got this as a door gift more than 10 years ago from a family day event at the zoo organized by my Dad’s company. I use it as a survival tool when I am out in the urban jungle.
- Facial blotters
My face gets greasy easily especially my T-zone. It helps to keep my face shine-free and most important keep my makeup fresh-looking.
- Lip balm/nasal inhaler/dental floss + traveller toothpick/Ricola sweets
My lip gets dry easily and sometimes it cracks and bleed. The lip balm helps to prevent it and also leaves a cool, refreshing feeling after use. The nasal inhaler is for my sinus problem. I use the dental floss/traveller toothpick to get rid of food stuck in my teeth and the toothpick is reusable, thus environmentally-friendly. I have a sweet tooth and the herbal sweets let me enjoy while travelling and also leaves my breath feeling fresh.
- Cigarette pouch + lighter
Self-explanatory!
- “Bear” handphone pouch
I got this from a novelty shop. I love its sleek design and it does not make my handphone look bulky.
Q) Tell us one thing we don’t know about you.
I can remember faces more than I remember names. Not exactly proud of it though, LOL.
Q) Describe yourself in 1 sentence.
I sting like a bee and yet my heart is as soft as cotton candy.
